Ontario is helping build Northumberland’s creative economy and enhance its quality of life by supporting a project led by Community Living-Campbellford/Brighton.
The province is investing $19,000 to develop a Youth Arts Mentorship Program, to provide free weekly workshops in film production, for youth, including youth at risk, rural youth and First Nations youth. It will pilot two new more advanced programs in documentary and art film production to broaden the knowledge base and creative experience of the students who have been through the first course.
The Cultural Strategic Investment Fund helps to build a strong and stable cultural sector by funding projects that contribute to Ontario’s cultural development and achieve economic and creative growth.
This investment supports the province’s Open Ontario Plan, recently introduced in the Speech from the Throne. The plan will build a new foundation for economic growth and jobs in Ontario.
